Engine problem
1997 Chevy Malibu V6 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 139900 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
once I start my car, it will only stay started for maybe about 20-30 seconds before it cuts back off. I had my fuel pump replaced, but that didn't help. The shop said my engine has seized, but the car still starts. Please tell me what else could possibly be wrong with my car.

How can it be ceased if it still crank and run for a few seconds
Check the ignition key and cylinder
Do you have a security light on

It's possible that you have a plugged up exhaust converter.
Try uncorking the exhaust by removing your upstream (pre cat) oxygen sensor, this will allow the engine to breath a little bit.
If the engine runs longer than it has been the converter is likely plugged and needs to be replaced.
