1998 Chevy Lumina 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

My car says the egr valve needs replaced. I have replaced this part twice and the codes have been cleared. The code keeps coming back. Does anyone have a fix for this situation

Check the pipe that leads to it, it may be clogged. If so, remove the egr valve, spray a ton of deep-creep down the pipe, replace the valve gaskets, put it back together and start it up. It will toss thick smoke out the exhaust for about 10 minutes. If that doesnt cure the issue, lemme know.
