1997 Chevy Lumina the coolant leaks into the engine

Engine Cooling problem
1997 Chevy Lumina 6 cyl Automatic 115000 miles

my 1997 lumina runs hot because is losing coolant but no colant ever leaked on the ground and i took it to the shop and they told me that the coolant was leaking into the engine how can i fix this problem i dont want to junk my car do i need a new engine please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello,

Most likely you have a blown head gasket. The cost to repair will be around $1,500.

hate to disagree with the head gasket theory but it would be more likley for the lower intake gaskets to be leaking and a block test whould be perfomed before condeming head gaskets
