Brake light on almost constantly for last few months. Boyfriend took a peek and they seem to be fine. Today for first time there was a clicking sound for the first few times I pressed brake after starting car .

Is the fluid full? Also, when he checked the brakes, how much pad was left? The clicking sound may be coming from the loose pads from being worn.

Let me know.

Pretty sure he checked fluid but will double check , get more info, and write back. There was only that one time it made those clicking sounds, but the light still comes on and off ( mostly on) constantly. I have wondered if my emergency break is not releasing completely, and how to check that?? Thanks a BUNCH :)

If you look under the dash, you will see a switch that is actuated by the e-brake pedal. Make sure it is properly adjusted. Also, if you hold the brake release and pull up on the pedal, it should return the entire way.

Just to let you know, a non returning e-brake pedal is a common problem with the brake light staying on.

Let me know what you find.
