1993 Chevy Lumina wont start

Engine Mechanical problem
1993 Chevy Lumina 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive 156222 miles

when i try 2 start my car it wont. It cranks over but wont start, unless i hold the gas pedal down then it runs. as soon as i let off the gas pedal it dies. the fuel pump is kicking on, whats wrong?
