1991 Chevy Lumina overheating

hello there i have a 91 chevy lumina euro 3.1 v6 it cranks up but after about a minute the temp gauge is all the way up and wont stay running with out your foot on the gas i replaced the thermostat and filled it with water same thing happen and everyone wants me to junk i dont want to if its a easy fix or enexpensive please let me know

Do you have a check engine light and when was it last tune-up?

Could be the radiator is clogged-up, hoses collapsed, water pump not pumping, a leak such as blown headgasket cracked head or block
