I'd use a gage and check fuel pressure. Some of the national brand autostores used to loan out a fuel pressure gage. The fuel pressure for the 3.1 is 41--47 psi. Also, check for applicable mil codes. The throttle position sensor is at the throttle body, attaches to the throttle shaft. Your accelerator cable attaches to one end of the throttle shaft.
