Passenger Front Window of my Lumina APV winds down partially (opens about 4 inches) then stops and makes a "Brrr" sound. Obviously stuck and can open no farther. Pressing the switch the opposite way will close back the window, but on reaching the top, the mechanism will again make that "Brrr" "Whrrr" sound - as if stuck again. So in both directions it does this. I'd be grateful to know what causes this. What parts need to be replaced ?

Thanks in advance. Jackson

Hi jackson, it doesnt sound to me like the window or track is stuck, it sounds more like the motor itself is shot, you may want to check the switch too. You can switch the drivers side with the passenger side just to rule the switch out as being the culprit. But I would bet the motor itself is bad, sometimes this happens with older vehicles. And with the drivers side used way more than the passenger side or the back seats, this is mostlikely why it wore out first.
