I "inherited" this car from a parent who can no longer drive. The adjustable lumbar support on the driver's seat does not "relax" enough and is killing my back. Is there a way to fix this? I've adjusted the seat every way I can with no luck. At this point, I've stopped driving the car. Had I been purchasing the car, I never would have bought it due to the uncomfortable driver's seat.

Steve martin wrote a funny story in the late seventies titled cruel shoes. The seat on the 07-09 impala is a cruel seat. There is a fix. Remove the pannel on the rear of the upper seat. Unhook the two cruel springs that connect the cruel lumbar torture device to the seat frame. This should solve the problem.
