It seems as if every two months the engine overheats and needs almost an entire gallon of antifreeze. Aso noticed was about 1/2 cup of antifreezeon the garadge floor. Is the water pump going bad or is there a leak in a hose some where?

Hello

Just a couple of quick things. First is white smoke coming out of the tail pipe?

Next, is it leaking when the engine is running or sitting?

First running: Look the engine over really well to see where it is coming from. Use a strong light but be careful of the moving pulleys etc. You must see where before you can even think about a fix. Remember, antifreeze will run down due to gravity but will blow when it gets near the pulleys and fan. So take that into consideration when looking. Just because it is there in that spot, it may be higher up or blown there.

If it only leaks when it is sitting: Make sure the floor is dry and park the car. Give it a little while and go out and see where the puddle is. Crawl under and look where it is dripping from and follow that up. Remember, it will run down. Use a strong light.

It could be a hose, water pump, gasket, radiator, several things so try to narrow it down.

Just make sure you keep antifreeze in it until you find it.

If you need more assistance then please make sure you tell us if the engine is a 3.5L or a 3.9L and the 8th digit of your VIN
