2002 Chevy Impala Windshield Wipers

After a heavy snow when the wipers were engaged, the wipers no longer return to the down position but stand straigh up in the line of vision. The wipers work normally, but just won't return to the down position. How is this fixed?

Im not sure what the part is called, but there is a part the returns the wipers to the down position. It is located on the wiper motor. Call your local dealer, they will know what I am talking about. I would highly suggest if you dont work on cars often to have them install it. They can be tricky to set up.
