I have the 2002 Chev Impala police package. I got it 8 month ago, when I bought it the check engine light was on. The owner said it was the Oxygen sensor. Months has past and last month to now I have been having problems to start the car. One time on a cold day I was stopped at a light and the car turned off. When my friends helped me push the car off the road, I heard a click sound and the car started right up when a turn the ignition. Now sometimes when park the car and try to start the car it wont turn back on even when I try jump starting it. I checked the alternator and the batteries both were good. Everything turns on except the car itself. To be safe I change the battery and latter the alternator the same thing keeps going on. I also check the ground and the wiring, it’s not the problem. Today it happened I was driving the car and it was ok, I added gas the check engine light came on. I parked the car, and an hour latter I tried to start it and it would not go on. I even tried to jump start it wouldn’t go on. I waited another hour and came down to try to start the car and it started right up. I notice a pattern when I fuel up my car or the check engine light comes on (or both at the same time) the car wont start; I have to wait. The crazy part when it restarts the check engine light is off for a while. It’s like the computer restarted it self and clear the problem. Until the check light come on and I add fuel to it. I don’t know if the fuel has anything to do with it. What can be the problem???????
