Engine Performance problem
2001 Chevy Express 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic
----------------------------------------------------------------
If my van idles for a long period of time in hot weather, when I put it in gear and step on the gas it will either hesitate or stall. It is obviously starving for fuel because I have to pump the gas to restart it. I changed the fuel filter but that had no effect.

Not necessarily fuel loss. Should check the fuel pressure to see what it is doing when the problem is present. Since it is temp related, it may a coolant temp sensor for example that is reading wrong and telling the pcm to change the fuel/air mix. Unlike a carb, the fuel injection pedal pumping does not have the same effect.
