1981 Chevy El Camino valve adjustments

Engine Performance problem
1981 Chevy El Camino 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 190,00 miles

I would like to know if it is a good idea to check and adjust my valve clearance. My valves seem to be noisy, I am useing the shell gas 89% octane that has nitrogine to clean your engine, could that be the reason ?. Dose my eingine have self adjusting valves ?

Yes you have Zero lash lifters no need to adjust. If oil pressure good then you can try an additive to see if sluge is the problem. Marvel Mistry Oil a good product to free up lifters. But at 190K miles it may just be wear that is the issue.
