Best guess. You need to get a new key made for the car. The key has a chip built into it. Over time they were out. The anti theif is doing it job. But it is not getting the right info. If the car is not getting the right info it will automatically turn off the fuel pump. Also you computer is storing codes. Buy disconneting the battery for a few mintues will help clear some stored error codes. If you dissconnet the battery make sure the doors are unlocked and the windows down. When you have a new key made. It will have to be order or coded at a Chevy dealer. Make sure that it is working properly.

If it isn't your key, then when was the last time the fuel filter was changed?
