1973 Chevy Corvette 73 vette not starting

Follow up to yesterdays question after a buddy and I did some digging last night. Engine will try to crank and even backfire but not turn over. When we checked the spark from a plug it seemed very weak and did not give a good "pop". Wehat is my next step?

Try this disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 ground it to the engine and have helper crank engine over-do you have spark-I need to know this

There is a spark but it seems very weak.

Check whether you have battery voltage on the red wire-also check primary and secondary windings of the coil.
