1971 Chevy Corvette Getting my vehicle running.

I have a 1971 corvette stingray that has been sittin for about 25 years and i want to rebuild it. I know that I am going to have to put money into this vehicle but im willing to take the risk. It has a 454 v8 engine, 4 speed transmission.There no drivers window so it does has some water damage from sitting out in the weather for a couple years so i guess i need to do interior work. I thinking the 1st thing i should do is to see if the engine turns over. what all do you need to do to try to check if it turns over? And in what order would you go about in rebuilding this car.
