I bought this car November 2005. I have no idea what maintienence has been done besides since I have owned it.

It is hard for me to explain myself so please bare with me, I am desperate to find out if my car will be ok or if it has passed on.

PROBLEM: I started the car and put it in drive. I let off the brake and the car started rolling backward (I am parked on a slight hill.) I can give it gas but it wont make the car move. It just rolls back. A few times while I was driving this is what happened: Everytime this happens I was stopped at a stop light or just starting the car to drive. When I hit the gas the car took time to get up to speed and it was rough changing gears to go. (Idon't know very much about cars)

Please send your relpy to Brookeaguayo@yahoo. Com
if you have the tiem to relpy. Thank you very very much ! Brooke Aguayo

I drive a 1996 Corsica 2.2 liter. Your car will have a 2.2 liter 4 cyl engine with a 3 speed transmission. Of a 3.1 liter V6 with a 4 speed transmission. What it sounds like to me is the transmission fluid is low and causing the transmission to slip. When the fluid is low, the transmission pump cant get any fluid and wont move until you give it gas to force fluid into the pump. It sounds like the transmission is still good, but you need to get the transmission flushed and the filter changed. It could cost around $100 to have a shop do it. Or about $40 if you do it your self. Happy Corsica
