Heater problem
1996 Chevy Corsica 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I was using my heater on cold for a/c the first day it got really hot this summer. After a couple miles there was smoke and fumes from driver side under the hood. I have not used since but still odor and there has been smoke and odor when i drive any distance of 10 miles or so. Have had it to two different mechanics who have found nothing. The blower works. I don't like driving it now b/c of fumes I worry may be harmful.

if you are seeing smoke it's got to be oil or coolant leaking onto the engine. at least under the hood. some may be seeping into passenger compartment. best thing is see if the hose under the car is plugged and not letting the htr/cac drain the water that it produces. that can lead to smells. you can try putting your a/c on recirc and spraying febreze on the passenger side near the heater so it gets sucked in to the heater box.
