I have a small oil leak. I have been told it is either a gasket or val

What kind of repair do I need? How can you determine where it is coming from and what price should I expect to fix this problem?

Hello Carline,

To determin the repair needed, we need to determin were the leak is at.

One way to find the leak would be to clean the engine. Then run for a day or 2 since it is a small leak may take a day or so to show up again. Or just keep checking the engine every so often during the day.

Look for wet areas around the Valve Covers the front of the engine around the big pulley at the bottom. Look all around.

Another way would be to go to your local auto parts store ask for ultraviolet oil dye or oil leak finder. Put it in the oil and drive for a while then using a Black Light look for the Florescent Green Dye.

If not sure name of area were leak is take pic and post here if possible.
