Engine Performance problem
1991 Chevy Corsica 6 cyl Automatic 147000 miles

My Corsica has just started having this problem within the last few months. If we drove for more than a few miles, we would turn the car off and then if we waited about 15 minutes, the car would not start. When I left the car to cool completely off, we could start it again. We have had the fuel filter replaced, the oil sensor replaced, and the fuel injection cleaned, and nothing has helped. Now it will not start at all. Is there anything you can suggest short of having it hooked up to computer? Thanks!

If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it, while you visually check for spark at the plugs, If you have spark everywhere, use a gage and check fuel pressure. Some of the national brand autostores used to loan out a fuel pressure gage, if you don't have one.

Did you check for applicable mil codes?

It has spark and getting good fuel pressure. I was told by someone that it might be the modulator valve in the distributor, but we can't get to it to have it checked out. It does also crank then no start. Thanks for the info and we can try it out!
