Is it common for Swaybar links to wear on a 3 year old car. And why weren't they checked when they replaced my control arm bushings last July 2009

The biggest enemy of sway bar links is rust, but I would suspect they should last longer.

There area also diferent grades of parts or quality, many shops will use the cheapest part.

Wouldn't they checked these out when they replaced the control arm bushings because they did not know what wrong until they go in to it.

Wouldn't they have checked the swaybar link when I took my car in last July 2009 for the same kinda of noise and they replaced the control arm bushings it seems that they would also checked the swaybar links because they said they were worn out. I can't believe they would be worn out in just a year.

I agree, maybe you should get a second opinion.

This type of link should last many years.
