2006 Chevy Cobalt Power Steering

I have an 06 Chevy Cobalt and on times i have really tough steering especially in the cold. Is there anything that could be causing this

Only in the cold? Interesting. The power steering on a Cobalt is electronic. If you look under your dash you can see an electric motor on the shaft. Do any lights come on when this happens? I know a common complaint with Cobalts, at least on the first couple model years which yours is, is that the steering sometimes "goes out", meaning that it feels like manual steering all of a sudden. Then it would return to normal. I don't remember what the exact fix was but most people just replaced the whole motor assembly. Sorry couldn't be more help.
