Electrical problem
1997 Chevy Cheyenne Engine Size unknown Two Wheel Drive Automatic 230000 miles

the truck was runing for about 5 min. when i stared going up a long step hill and my heat gage went all the way up into the red and at the top i drove a bit and then it went down to 50. Why did my truck do this it was not overheating and the preformance of the truck was the same. thank you
