I've replaced alot of things. New engine at 240000 miles. New distrib cap and rotor, new injectors, new speed sensor, new idle control valve, throttle pos sensore, new egr, new spark plugs, set the timing, and a few other things. But now it has an excesssively high idle.
also is it normal for my cluster guages to erraticly move while driving?

If you have not found the problem yet, get a can of brake cleaner (NOT CRC) or carb and choke cleaner and spray the intake and the vacuum lines to check for any leaks while the engine is running. If you find a leak you will notice a change in the idle speed. Do NOT use CRC brake clean as it may eat the rubber and plastic.
