My 1988 chevy celebrity won't run for over 15-20 min. at a time and then quits. After I let it set for awhile (10-20)min. then it will start and run again for 15-20min. I unplugged the torque converter but no difference, I replaced the map sensor still no difference. A friend told me it could be the fuel pump, but I can here the fuel pump running if I turn the key on without starting it, could it be fuel pump relays overheating? if so where are they located and is there a way to check them?

Thanks for your time
Sincerely,
Randy

Sorry I can,t donate any money, recently lost my job to lay-off...

Hello, when the problem occurs, do the basic tests. If the vehicle cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it, while you check for spark at the plugs and injector pulse. If no spark or injector pulse, I'd look for an rpm signal.

With TBI you can see the injector spray gas. If there is no spray pattern, you need to check if the computer is grounding the injector circuit, noid lite or testlite, something.
