chevy cavialer fuel guage

how do i fix a a fuel guage on a 99 cavalier. it does not read the proper level . i now that it is in the tank with the fuel pump. is there a easy way to drop the tank or is it necessaty to do that to access the pump and guage ?

hey yea you have to drop the fuel tank to access the fuel pump and the gas level bubble .

You do this by chocking the front wheels and jacking up the rear of the car and putting jack stands under the axle . or you can also back the car on ramps ...

Now it gets a just a little difficult Put a jack or two under the tank .......Then you have to find all the fuel tank supports ( there all metal belts ) and take them loose ....... It should drop loose now and and the rest is pretty much a little easyer and im sure you can figure it out .....


( it makes it alot easy'er if the tank is empty ))))))
a little fuel in the tank during this project makes it hard so get all that you can out
