In 2005 I had to replace the battery and the alternator in my 98 cavalier. Now driving home from work today I noticed the battery light came on and after a few minutes it went off. I was wondering why this is happening after having a battery for only 2 years. Can someone help me? Thank you

Jason,
You can't imagine how often I have seen reman alternaters go south. That is the first thing I would check. Regardless if you put it in yesterday.

What brand did you use. Hopefully it wasn't an autozone one.

IT isn't a matter of safe as it is getting stuck somewhere. IF the Alternater is going bad, it will leave you on the side of the road.

You need to check it's output. If a shop put it in, give them a call, most alternaters have a lifetime warranty, some 3 years. Some less.
