Electrical problem
2001 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Last night on my paper route my car shut off without any warning. I turned my car back on and kept on driving my route until I would slow down at stop signs or red lights the car would start having problems and shut off again. So I decided to get on highway and get home asap. it seemed to get power from doing so and was running fine so i turned back around to finish my route with only 6 streets remaining. I went at a moderate spped without really coming to stops at stop signs to avoid it shutting off. Every time i would slow down though it would start acting like it wanted to shut off agian. Luckily it didn't and i finished my route and barely got home what is the problem? Is it the battery?
