Hello. I have a 2001 chevy cavalier. My engine feels as if it wants to stall and cut out but it does not cut out. It feels like the engine sort of "jerks" when i'm idling or in park but when I drive its fine I dont feel a thing. I had my spark plug wires and plugs changed, as well as my fuel filter replaced but the problem still occurrs. I asked a mechanic if it might be the air control valve or another sensor in my car. I have little knowledge of mechanics so a relpy to this problem will be very helpful. Thanks

First do u have a check engine light and if so what is the code. Aslo it sounds like it could be a mis fire and you had the plugs and wires chaned but how about the coil pack or coils

Well the mechanic used the diagnostic tool and he found nothing. The check engine light never did come on since this problem started. I dont think he checked the coils

Ok so no check engine light so it could be and o2 sensor or even a partially opened egr valve could just be a map sensor but that would most likely to send a code also check for a vacume leak
