2001 Cavalier Headlight Problems

Hey all.

I got a 01 that I got about a year ago. When I bought it from the GM dealer I had problems with the lights. Last March (when I bought it) I took it in and they had to replace the front wiring harness due to corrosion. No charge because it was still under warranty.

Now one of the lights is only receiving enough power to light the bulb a dull yellow. Other light works fine. Also, after you turn the headlights on the service light pops on.

Anyone know if this could be another deal with the harness again? Maybe its just a loose ground or the DLR module. Anyone had experience with this problem? Any help would save time. Oh, I changed the bulb already. Still didn’t help.

Thanks ahead of time! :)

It sounds like we have a similar problem. My '96' Cavalier has dim driverside headlights, while the passenger side lights are fine. I've replaced the bulbs, checked the fuses, and replaced the headlight relay with no success! Let me know if you've come up with an answer for this, as I'm running out of ideas. Thanks.

Chris,
Wiring diagrams make sense to me, but finding the spot on the vehicle that relates to the diagram is the tough part! I found a ground wire in behind the right headlight assembly, which I unscrewed from the frame, cleaned up and tightened back into the frame, but it didn't do the trick. Any other ideas?
