My car was leaking anitfreeze, couldn't see where. It over heated twice and now it won't start. Attempts to, but, won't crank over. Can you direct me as to what to do?

Hi there,

You may have a hydraulic lock, this is when coolant fills a cylinder as the valves are closing pull the spark plugs and turn by HAND... if no water check starter and battery, start here.

I was told it was a fuel pump. But, it sounds more like a gasket to me?

Hi there,

If the car had a faulty fuel pump, it would still crank over, i would be checking for coolant in the combustion chambers.

Hi there,

The head will have to be removed, crack tested, checked for warp and twist & pressure tested and re surfaced, all these are standard procedure s to ensure that the head is 100% serviceable again.

So, then, do you believe it to be a head gasket job to fix the reason why it won't start? It couldn't be the timing could it? Problem again; was leaking anti-freeze, can't find leak, over-heated twice, then, won't start. Can you recomend some one in my area to fix it cheap? Wellington, OH?
