1999 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl

I have a 99 Chevy cavalier. Recently a friend replaced by valve cover gasket. Shortly after this, my car started spewing oil from the cover area.

I redid the job and used sealant to reseal it into place, and now am still having same problem.

Also, when I took the car into a compression test, I was given a p0113 and p0117 code. I replaced the engine coolant sensor and replugged in the intake air sensor, went to reset check engine light, but it is still on.

What steps are necessary for replacing the valve cover gasket and also could those codes being sent up point to a ECM problem?

Sounds like you may have the wrong gasket. Or part of the old gasket is still on cover. Take cover off and look and see where exactly the oil is comeing out.

Not much too this cover so has to be gasket or possibly cracked cover
