Transmission problem
1998 Chevy Cavalier Engine Size unknown Two Wheel Drive Manual 148000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I have a 1998 Chevy Cavalier 148,000 miles 5 speed 2.2 motor.
When driving my car, the steering wheel jerks and I hear a popping or clicking sound at the same time the wheel jerks. My dad thinks its the transmission and I called a few other people that said it would be the universal joint which my car does not have that. Do you think it is the CV joint or the tranny?

I had a used transmission put in my car like 4 months ago and also a used motor almost 3 months ago. How much more could I need?

Try doing a sharp LH turn on hard surface, when accelerating. If you hear a lot of "clacking" the right outer CV joint needs replacing and versa visa.
