I have a grinding noise that gets worse as I accelerate and the sound disappears slightly when I turn right. I also have a vibration from the same area that has been getting worse. I do not hear any clunking but the noise may cover it up. Could it also be a bad set of tires? The tires on the car are your typical used car dealer el cheapos.

i would suspect a wheel bearing issue or a issue with the cv joints.

to check the cvs drive slowly and turn left and right sharply but slowly working the vehicle through its range of motion. try it in reverse also.

for wheel bearings jack up the vehicle and check for movement in the wheel, if you feel any movement the bearings should be checked.
