Transmission problem
1997 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 0
----------------------------------------------------------------
I recently replaced my engine in my car, my old engine had 170,000+ miles. My clutch was getting a little worn as well so when I had the engine out I also replaced the clutch with a ClutchMasters FX100 clutch. Now the engine is back in and tranny is bolted on but it will not shift into any gear there is no pressure in the clutch pedal and the lines will not bleed. I have no i dea what to do, I have take the tranny back off and examined the plate, and disc, and everything is correct. Why wont it shift into gear? hope you can help

If its not bleeding out of the clutch slave/servo-check the clutch master cylinder hydraulic pressure starts from there. And also check the free play and height adjustment.

[quote:ad0359e452="lugnutterman"]its hard to bleed keep trying[/quote:ad0359e452] Well we got it to bleed but now the car will not shift into any gear you have to float gears when moving and i know thats hard on the tranny, and in order to get moving in 1st or reverse, you have to have the car off, put it into that gear and then start it. The tranny is the same one from the original motor and it had about 170,000 miles on it. Is there anything you can suggest to look at?
