Bought car used. In fairly good shape. The check engine light came on as well as "ets off". What does "ets off" stand for or mean? Also, the theft system light came on, but, has gone off. Where can I get an "owner's manual" for this model Chevy Cavalier LS 1997.

Electronic traction system or ETS is PCM controlled.

Usually you will have an ABS failure (wheel sensor for example) that will disable ETS.

Find a trusted garage to read ABS codes which are "C" (chassis) codes.

Try local junk yards for an owners manual.

Hi there,

The ETS off is the electronic traction control (turned off)
check for a wheel sensor , try on line auto books for your manual, you should find one there.
