1997 Chevy Cavalier 3rd check engine light, gas smell, ???

In April, ck eng light on, ran rough, diagnosed with heated ox sensor, replaced. In May, ck eng light, ran really rough, replaced spark plugs/wires. Now, ck eng light *again*; not running rough, but smelling gas outside car (not new - maybe 3-5 months smelling gas). Could there be a root problem dealer techs are not finding? Could a gas line leak generate a ck eng light?

A 4 cyl Cavalier its most likely going to be a bad injector that is leaking externally.This will do both things you describe, cause a strong fuel odor and cause it to run rough
