Dear 2carpros;
I do my own repairs on this car and a Pontiac 1999 Sunfire 2.4, I use a "ACTRON model CP9145 Super AutoScanner" for checking these two vehicles.

My questing is what do I compare these readings to?

1. I have no Reference to PID readings I am getting.
Like what should "Ign Adv" be? I get readings of (-35.0).
What should "Lt and St FTRM1 %" be? I will get (0.8)etc.
Are these any thing like what it should be reading?

As I said I have no Reference!

Can you GentleMen Help?

I keep these Cars Running, but I have no Idea of what these Parameters should be.

I have Zero (Nada) Info.

Sincerely,

Alvin

If you are reading (in live data mode) a -35 degrees of advance, then you have a bad knock sensor or the scanner is reading incorrectly. Car would not run at a -35 degrees. Could also be a crank sensor/cam sensor.

What symptoms are you getting?

The fuel trim readings are most likely associated with the timing problem.
