My '70 Caprice is an all original ghetto sled lately when i get on the freeway the car pings and then starts to die like its starving for gas. I've tuned it up, removed the air conditioning stuff on the motor, replaced the rubber fuel lines, and replaced the thermostat and coolant but the car doesn't seem to run hot! i highly doubt this is a high performance motor so i run regular unleaded,(the air cleaner sticker says 300 h.p hah!) so is the pinging and stalling due to vapor lock and how can i fix it? my kids ride in this car and stalling on the freeway is not good so i gotta get this figured out! Any help would be greatly appreciated
