Door won't latch shut

I have a 1996 Chevy Camaro, 184,000 miles, V6. It snowed/rained/iced the other night. At first, I could not get the drivers side door open. Key went into lock and turned, the outside handle would pull up, but the door would not come open. I poured hot water around the lock and where the door meets the body of the car. Banged a few time on the door near the lock with my hand, pulled and the door came open. Now it won't latch shut. The latch is
down and I can't get it to move. I've sprayed WD40 and de-icer everywhere in the area of the latch, holes inside the door, ect. Still won't latch shut.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Check the latch on the door. If it is stuck try moving it back and forth using a screwdriver until it loosens up. Make sure you have the handle pulled out as if you were going to open the door. When it you get it free. Keep moving it back and forth while spraying it with w d 40. When you get it free keep moving it so it is nice and free. Don't use too much force just enough to get it to move.
