I have an 2002 Chevrolet Camaro. What would cause it to lose oil pressure? As far as I can tell there is no oil leak. Nothing has dripped onto the driveway. Can you tell me what other things could cause a loss in oil pressure. Does not do it all the time.

They first thing to check is your oil pressure sending unit and the entire circuit leading up to and including the gauge itself.

If you find a failure, replace that component.

Then you want to confirm you are actually having low oil pressure.

Purchase an oil pressure gauge with the required adapter and connect it to where the oil pressure sending unit is connected.

Rev your motor and watch the gauge. If you are having low oil pressure, then the following causes could be present:

Faulty oil pump, clogged oil pick-up/oil passage, worn crankshaft main/rod bearings, worn camshaft bearings.
