I have a 98 camaro, v6, 152000 miles. It started making a very loud ticking noise. The more I accelerated the louder/faster it got. It also stopped ticking after I would drive it for 10 mins. Then one day when I got in, it said check gauges, and there was no oil pressure. My dad checked the oil and there was way more oil then there should have been. If anyone knows what they think it is please let me know! Also, the estimated guess on the price of getting it repaired. I love my car and I do not want a new one.

Check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge if normal-you probably got a lifters leakdown problem-I'll bet its ticking/tapping when you first start the car before it gets fully warmed-up.

A mechanic told me its more than likely a clogged oil screen. Does that sound like its true?
