After cranking the car in the mornings, the car will run hot for a few min then it will cool, then in a few more min it will run hot again. On somedays it wont run hot at all. It has coolant and water. What could be the cause of this and how do I fix it? It is not leaking water the only water that I am loosing is from the water resavar when running hot.

Hello
Thanks for the donation.

It sounds as if your thermostat is sticking periodically, blocking coolant flow and causing overheating. Once it finally opens, it cools the engine back down. Sometimes it may not stick at all, letting the engine cool normally. The thermostat is located on the intake manifold or water pump, underneath water outlet. Remove and test it in boiling water over stove. Inspect it to ensure it is opending at the proper temperature with a meter that can withstand hot temperatures. Thermostat should open around 190 F or whatever temperature is printed on the thermostat.

Post results and I will follow up.
