I recently purchased my 1994 Z28 and love the car. However, it has a nasty oil leak and I can't seem to locate the origin. I thought rear main seal but that doesn't seem to be it. I have heard of head gasket and intake manifold issues, but I dont have any overheating or misfireing problems. Where could the oil leak be coming from and if it is a head gasket or intake gasket issue, how much should I expect to pay a dealer to fix the problem?

Hi:
If the oil is leaking down the back it could be a valve cover gaskets or the intake. On oil leak on the intake isn't the same as a vacuum leak. You can leak oil and still have the fuel system sealed. You need to spray off the engine cleaner (follow directions) and see if you can identify where it's coming from. An intake job I would expect to be in the area of 300 dollars.

Let me know if you have other questions.

Joe
