94 camaro z28 lt1 6 speed backfiring at 2300-2500 RPMs when I punch it replaced the wires when I first got it and that fixed the hesitation but again it still backfired so I changed the fuel filter and it runs a lot better but it still backfires but only between those RPM's. The plugs are new NGK's. I have a dual borla exhaust with a y-pipe. Can't get it to stop backfiring now when I drive it normally it won't backfire it runs great and when I punch it and it backfires there is no loss of power at all. Cats have been removed/ My thoughts were possible bad timing on the car exhaust leak.

Have scanned the computer?Possible also your distributer is goin bad, its behind near the water pump. They r very expensive so if u wanna try that just go to a self serve junkyard and get one off another camaro or a caprice or a roadmaster all have the 5.7 give that a try u never know.
