I have a 92 camaro rs. Ive had many people look at it and everybody has a different answer about what is wrong. I was driving it and it made a loud pop and died. Then when you try starting it it will run for about 10 seconds then act like its out of gas and quit. I put a new fuel pump on and that didn't seem to help. One guy said that its in the auto-theft in the steering column. Another said that its the oxygen sensor. It is also not showing any trouble codes. What do you think is wrong?

When you start it, does it run good for 10 seconds or bad? Have you checked the (new) fuel pump pressure? If you manually feed it starting fluid, does it keep running? Are you able to check to see if it looses spark after 10 seconds?

It will run for about 10 or someetimes less then act like it runs out of fuel and die. I haven't checked the new fuel pressure or see if the plugs are gettin fire at the 10 seconds. And if you keep feeding it starter fluid it will stay running I took it to a garage and the guy seems to think the hoses on the fuel pump are bad but others keep saying its the auto theft in the steering column

It could be either. You need to check to see if the fuel pressure drops off when it dies. It wouldn't be spark if it keeps running with starting fluid. That is why I am leaning toward a fuel delivery problem. Also, I believe the spark is shut down too when the anti theft is activated.

Do you need directions for checking fuel pressure?

Yea that is very true
no I know how to check the pressure. The guy that is working on it has had it for 3 months and is just now getting it in his garage. He is going to put new fuel lines on and see what that does.

If you don't have a leak, that won't help. It will be money lost. Have him check the fuel pressure and also how quickly it drops off when the key is shut.

Check oil pressure sending unit-it powers the fuel pump after it starts up

Let me know what you find.

I also just recently bought a '92 RS 5.0, about 2 days after I got it it started acting like it was running out of gas. Some one told me it was the fuel sending unit and another person says its my fuel pressure regulator. Can some one here please help? Oh it's not throwing any codes
