My 88 camaro has an new 2.8l engine. It started to break bellhousings after I replaced the distributor. The new distributor gave the car a lot more acceleration and torque. Ive broken 3 bellhousings.

A 2.8 doesnt make enough power to break bellhousing. There is an alignment problem with the trans most likely. Are both alignment dowels in place for the bellhousing to line up on?
