1980 Chevy Camaro Stalls at Idle and higher RPM

Engine Performance problem
1980 Chevy Camaro 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 89900 miles

What could be causing this car to stall at idle and at speeds around 25 mph. I just bought this car for my son and I to restore. Car usually starts after I pump the gas pedal several times. I have turned up the idle to keep it from cutting out. When I increase speed to shift into 3rd (3spd manual) it runs a bit but then cuts out totally and won't start for a few minutes. Parts guy said Idle Air Control Valve. I'm not sure.

Go ahead and clean out the idle air control valve and test the TPS and MAP sensor to include a fuel pressure check.
