The correct way to adjust the valves is to bring each cylinder to top dead cylinder. Loosen rocker arms for free play at push rods. While moving push rod up and down tighten rocker arm nut till no play is felt. Do this procedure slowly so you dont over tighten. From there turn the nut one full turn 360 degrees. Then move to the next cylinder repeating procedure.
